Accommodation

There are lots of options for accommodation in and around Flix, and in towns or cities further away, listed below. Depending on how you are thinking of travelling, some options might be better for you than others - more detail here.

For our non-local guests, our main recommendation is to stay at Resort Rural Vilar Riu de Baix. This is where the Kettleton family will be staying, along with the bridal party. On the Friday evening, we will be having a Welcome Dinner at Vilar Riu de Baix, and on the morning of the wedding, as is the Catalan custom, the bride's family and friends will gather together to receive the groom's envoy at Vilar Riu de Baix. From here, we will have coaches organised to take us to the church for the ceremony. It is very possible to walk into town - 15 minutes - but we thought on the morning of the wedding those in heels and bow ties might prefer the air-conditioned drive. Coaches will transport guests from the venue back to Vilar Riu de Baix at the end of the night.

This is the only hotel option in the town of Flix. It is a lovely location with nice facilities but if you are looking for a more luxurious place to stay, then scroll down for more options.

We have reserved the whole resort from Friday 30th May until Sunday 1st June. If you choose to stay somewhere else, please still do come and spend time with us here - there will be plenty going on!

Resort Rural Vilar Riu de Baix

Vilar Riu de Baix is a holiday resort which includes a hotel, swimming pool, sauna, football pitch and access to the river walk. It is surrounded by olive groves and runs all the way down to the meandering River Ebro. As it is owned by Sergi’s cousin, we have reserved the whole resort for our guests. The bridal party and Kettleton family will be staying in the two holiday homes on site and the boys in the band will have the bunk beds in the dorm! The hotel itself has fifteen double rooms, with en-suite bathrooms, all of which look out onto the view below. Breakfast is available each day.

The costs are listed below as these are specific prices for our guests:
€87 per night for a double room.
€63 per night for a single room.

To stay here, please email or message us so that we can save you a room in the hotel. Depending on how long you stay, you will then settle the amount with reception. Also, it would be entirely possible to stay for a longer time than we have reserved already, if that would be something you would want to do.
